Lori has instructed fitness classes since 1983 and has been a personal trainer for Buck and Goodson Recreation Centers since 2002. “I really enjoy working with our varied clientele here at South Suburban. I hope to share my enthusiasm about making fitness enjoyable, effective and a part of your lifestyle. Proper technique and safety are a priority. Being healthy is an achievable goal.”
Sandy has been involved in athletics and fitness activities all his life. He grew up playing lacrosse and ice hockey among other team/goal oriented sports and began his fitness instructor career in 2010, teaching high intensity boot camp and indoor cycle classes. Sandy believes that keeping fit, strong and healthy is a top priority. According to Sandy, “I work out and train as much as I do because I am training for life. That functional ability to handle all the physical demands of everyday living is important to me. It would be my honor to motivate you to achieve your fitness goals and objectives, whatever they may be. I would love to be a part of your journey!”
Education:B.S. Teaching degree, Texas A&M University; Masters in Public Administration, University of Colorado
After a serious injury, Liz looked to Pilates for her own healing. She was so grateful for getting her life back that in order to help others, she became certified in Mat and Reformer Pilates. After more than 15 years of instructing Pilates, her greatest joy is to see others restored to well-being. Liz also co-authored and co-taught "Pilates for Physical Therapists" in Peoria, Illinois.
Tessie is a registered nurse and has been instructing fitness since 1987 and personal training since 2002. “I became a personal trainer because it’s ‘personal,’ according to the person you are training. You give that one person your “all” according to their likes, dislikes, needs and goals.”
Education: B.S. in Nursing
Stephanie has been a Personal Trainer and triathlon/running coach since 2002. She also is creator of Kinetic Kids Fitness Programming for youth fitness and nutrition and has experience working with individuals with disabilities in a clinical setting. She has completed Ironman Switzerland and Boulder and enjoys training and coaching a wide variety of clients, from beginners to endurance athletes. Stephanie is also a certified ACE Health Coach and includes diet, nutrition and psychology in her approach to healthy living.
Education: B.S. in Exercise Physiology, M.S. in Sport Biomechanics
Before becoming a Personal Trainer, John was a small business owner. John has training experience in weight loss, sports performance, balance and stability, core strength development and reactive training. "Fitness is my passion and I want to make your training programs challenging, attainable and enjoyable. I offer a variety of programs just for you! Together, we can reach your personal goals with the right exercise and nutrition."
Education: Finance and Computer Science
Rosanne trains individuals who want to tone up, get stronger after surgery or need that accountability to make sure they get their workouts in. She says she is not a hard-driving personality, but she insists on attention to form, good diet, and consistency in order to reach clients’ goals. She has been a long-time weight room devotee and thinks it is a key component of a wellness program. "South Suburban is a great place to train because of the varied ages, fitness levels and goals presented to me by clients. Please don't hesitate to introduce yourself to me if you see me at Buck or Goodson.”
Caleb has always had a passion for fitness. Growing up, he played over 10 different sports competitively ranging from cross country all the way to rugby. Caleb now enjoys trail running, hiking and anything active. “As a personal trainer, I am empathetic while at the same time challenging and motivating. I will do everything in my power to get you the results that you are looking for, while making it a fun and positive experience for you!”
Education: B.S. in Kinesiology
Ann has worked for SSPR since 1997 and has been a Fitness Instructor and Personal Trainer since 1990. Ann is also a certified USA Triathlon Coach and USA Cycling Coach. She currently teaches indoor cycling and weight training classes and works with a variety of personal training clients. In 2004, Ann was inducted into the Colorado Sportswoman Hall of Fall for Triathlon, and she was crowned World Champion at the 2002 USAT Age-Group Triathlon. Ann was on a record breaking 2010 Race Across the West cycling team and has successfully competed in the 2012 and 2013 Race Across America.
Education: B.A. in Art History
Martino has always been an athlete in various sports including football and baseball, and more recently, boxing. His passion for fitness started after completing p90x, and he eventually decided to take on fitness as a career to help other people accomplish their fitness goals. Martino believes that fitness should not be a chore, but more of an exciting challenge to look forward to throughout the week.
Cherise has been training for marathons and triathlons for 20 years and has accomplished 35 marathons and 2 full Ironman competitions. She has successfully coached many people through their first marathon/triathlon, training alongside them every step of the way. Cherise specializes in endurance activities, though she also has experience with short-distance goals and believes that variety in any exercise program is a must. While her favorite activities are running and swimming, she continues to incorporate all forms of exercise in her regimens including boxing, TRX and yoga.

Education: B.S. in Human Performance and Sport from MSU Denver
Stan has been working in the fitness field for more than 25 years. He believes that being active allows people to enjoy the many facets of life: “By improving or maintaining one’s level of physical fitness a person continues to be a participant of life and does not become a bystander.” In his years as a trainer and educator he’s been blessed to work with very diverse groups of individuals, from the physically challenged and the general public to elite athletes and military personnel. He’s found that the one common denominator to successful training is believing one’s goals can be reached. – “Believe you can!”

Barb has been involved in health and fitness field since 1976 and worked as a personal trainer since 2003. Barb says, “Life is an endurance sport— get in the game!”
Education: B.S. Physical Education
After leaving her 20 year technology career where she had a relatively stressful and sedentary lifestyle, Maureen decided to follow her passion for living an active lifestyle. She became a personal trainer as well as an indoor cycling and Zumba instructor and has been teaching and training clients over 6 years. According to Maureen, “Helping others be the best they can be makes me so happy!”
Education:B.S./M.S. in Human Nutrition
Heidi has been a fitness instructor since 1995 and a personal trainer since 2000. Her philosophy is, “As a personal trainer, I have the privilege to help people define and meet their fitness goals, which ultimately leads to a healthier lifestyle for my clients. Realizing that each person has unique goals which require personalized fitness programs keeps me challenged. It is an honor to work with a great variety of individuals.”
Jeannete became a triathlon enthusiast when first introduced to the sport upon moving to Colorado from Sweden in 2000. To date she has completed numerous triathlons, running and biking events (including 3 marathons and 3 Ironman triathlons) and has placed in her age group and/or qualified for Nationals in several races. Jeannete was naturally drawn into coaching and personal training since she loves to help and encourage others to pursue fitness and an active lifestyle. She feels that it’s never too late to start exercising. According to Jeannete, “ A trainer should be a good communicator and listener. I believe a coach has several responsibilities toward the client: to be committed, trustworthy, caring and professional. After all, the athlete trusts that the trainer will make his or her goals become a reality.”
Multilinguist: English, Spanish and Swedish
Coco has always had a passion for fitness. She became a Personal Trainer driven by the desire to help people achieve the level of fitness they’ve always wanted. As Coco decided to regain ownership of her own health after the birth of her second child, she saw how the benefits, both physical and psychological, extended to her circle of family and friends. She also began finding everyday ways to keep kids moving and active, especially as physical education options diminish at schools. This and her relationship with her grandmother were key factors in designing age-appropriate activities for youth and seniors. "Seeing results with family and friends led me to pursue a certification in Personal Training."
Education: Human Resources Management
Diane is a competitive runner of all distances ranging from 5K to 50 miles. She has completed the Pikes Peak Marathon/Triple Crown of Running seven times as well as several ultra-marathons. During her assignment in the United States Air Force she started weightlifting and now has more than twenty-five years experience designing strength training programs. She is passionate about sharing this experience to help you transform your body. Diane has worked with many clients over the years ranging from youth to seniors, blind and stroke clients to Leadville 100 Trail Runners. “Physical fitness is truly a way of life for me and I will work with you to develop a program you will enjoy and be motivated to continue. Together we can create a fitness routine tailored to your specific needs that will allow you to meet and/or exceed your fitness goals.”
Mary has been providing sports rehabilitation, post physical therapy work, personal training and fitness instruction since 1987. She has found, “The best part about teaching fitness is seeing people become healthier and benefiting in multiple ways because they added physical activity into their lives.”
